Diabetes UK suggests using the term ‘remission’ rather than reverse.

Journalists seem always to reach for the latter in their headlines before using the more widely accepted term in the article itself. Which just seems likely to confuse people unfortunately.

Use of the term ‘reverse’ in the media is so widespread that DUK have had to use it in the headline here so that people searching using ‘reverse’ will get some clarification. 🙄

Can you reverse type 2 diabetes?

We don’t call it type 2 diabetes reversal, because this might sound like it's permanent, and there’s no guarantee that your diabetes has gone forever. But yes, it may be possible to put your type 2 diabetes into remission.
