the last two sensors I've worn I've put on my arm so have kept out the water, this sensor I've had to put on my upper abdomen because arms too sore to use having used them for libre for eighteen months previously. Can't find the bit in the instruction bible about bathing and swimming, am I right that the Dexcom is waterproof. Am struggling even keeping it stuck for the seven days even keeping it dry , one sensor lasted two weeks but my last sensor only lasted the seven days, tried tegaderm but it was useless for me help please
Jo

I find that it's usually ok for a shower, but haven't tried swimming with it. If I remember:D I put a tegaderm dressing over it. Someone on here recommended Skin Tac liquid adhesive. Have got some but haven't used it yet. It's expensive, but then so are the sensors!

The Dex is allegedly waterproof but I have noticed on more than one occasion the ??? after a shower which means water has managed to get between the transmitter and sensor so I just remove the transmitter dry the bottom and plonk it back on again.

Thank you both for your replies think I'd better keep it dry, the sensors and especially the transmitter are too expensive to mess around with. Will use a flannel in the bath and shallow water so doesn't get too wet, hate it when the question marks show!!

Jo don't worry about it, I shower every day and can honestly say neither transmitter or sensor have been damaged or life shortened because of it. The transmitter lasts about 14 months and sensors last on average 3 weeks but have managed 47 days before.

Any secrets to making the sensor last so long @Pumper_Sue ?

The secret lies in making sure the sensor is well and truly stuck down, once it starts to move i.e. the tape lifts you are on a losing battle.
