MORE than 800 people in Cornwall have developed diabetes in the past year, according to a new analysis by Diabetes UK.
The charity's research indicates more than 37,100 people in Cornwall now have the disease, up from around 36,300 in 2012, meaning 8.1 per cent of county residents aged 16 and over have the condition.
One of the people with Type 2 diabetes is Spencer Wimbleton, 72, from Camborne.
"I was diagnosed eight years ago after I went to the doctor because I was feeling very tired," he said.
