Feeling a bit more positive today. Going to look at glucose monitor today as yesterday I felt very dizzy and so tired. Is this normal for pre diabetes? My daughter is taking me out for Mother’s Day tomorrow. She said what can u eat mum? I hope wherever we’re going they can accommodate me

When only prediabetic people don't normally experience any symptoms but what can happen when people make dietary changes and blood glucose comes down quickly their body is adjusting to lower levels and that can give you those symptoms. Hence people are advised to make changes gradually to minimise the effect on eyes and nerves and prevent those symptoms. Having said that they can also be symptoms of high blood glucose which is why a monitor is useful as it means you can check if you feel unwell.
I had been prediabetic so I did have a monitor but one day I felt light headed and dizzy and though my blood glucose was low but when I checked it was actually high to my astonishment so contacted the GP and an HbA1C revealed I had nudged over the threshold into the diabetic zone.

What sort of a place are you going for Mother's Day, if you know you can look on their web site to see what low carb options they have. Some places do 'light' meals or you can have starter with a portion of salad. If things come with chips and sandwiches often do just ask for extra salad instead or for main meals swap the chips for salad or halloumi fries.
It is only 1 day, 1 meal so don't worry to much and enjoy.

I’m not sure. She said save your carbs. Lol. I’m at my usual place of eating on a Thursday evening and they changed my meal to salad and chicken burger and bacon no bun. Big glass of water because I had a large decaf oat latte earlier

There was probably a lot of carbs in the oat milk latte, oat milk is one of the higher carb milks so a wise move to have water.

Hi. Your post it titled 'Calorie Counter'. The important thing with diabetes is to count the Carbs and forget Calories as they have little meaning.
