Hi Guys, went to the doctors with a bad back and ended up with a bad back (being sorted) and a type 2 diagnosis.

Like many new to this, I got bogged down with so much info, trying to find out what to do, and as I have M.E. too, my brain wouldn't respond.

I found you guys and have been reading posts for a week and am happy to say I have calmed down and taking it all bit by bit.

Have my eye test Friday and see nurse again in 2 weeks to discuss what I have been eating.

So thanks so far, you have been a great help already.🙂

Hi Slipper, welcome to the forum 🙂 Glad you have been finding the forum useful, if there is anything that concerns or confuses you please let us know and we will try our best to help you out 🙂 Good luck with the eye test - remember to take some sunglasses with you, even if it's not sunny! Sometimes (but not always) they use drops to dilate the pupils and this can make everything very bright for a couple of hours afterwards - if you have the drops you won't be able to drive home, so bear that in mind too 🙂

Keep reading and asking questions, it can be helpful so that when you get to see the nurse you will have a good idea of what sort of questions to ask and also what you should expect in terms of your healthcare. 🙂

Hi Slipper. Welcome.🙂

Hi slipper 🙂

I'm newly diagnosed T2, and I have M.E. too! And a ruptured disc in my back... are you sure you're not me? lol

I've done the information overload thing too, but reading here has helped me so much. I reckon if we take it at our own pace, we'll get there!

Nick

Don't I recognise you from FoggyFriends?!:D

welcome to the forum its a great place to come for help and support 🙂

Hi and welcome to the forum slipper, hope its a glass one 😛

Good luck for Fridays eye test.

Welcome to the forum.

Lots of people find the diagnosis difficult - being given a pile of leaflets to read but no practical help. You don't know the questions to ask and then you read the leaflets and start to panic.

Try to pace yourself when learning so that you don't get overwhelmed.

Hope you find the forums useful.

Hello Slipper and welcome to the forums. I'm glad we've been of help to you already! And we weren't even trying! Lol. Good luck with your eye test. Take care and keep in touch. XXXXX

Yes, it is I from that other place Nick, glad to see you on here.🙂

Thank you so much everyone for your kind welcome, cheered me up.

Had my eye test today, in the back of a Transit Van, 🙂 but it was great as it was just at my surgury and saved me a hospital trip. The drops stung a bit but only for a short while. Did feel an idiot with my sun glasses on in the rain, but hey, may have made someone smile.

Again, thanks to everyone and someone I know a little, , Nick.

Glad to hear the eye test went off well Slipper - I had my first one in the back of a transit van too! 🙂 As I was having mine done the next patient was sat in the front seat waiting for his eye drops to take effect!

Thats exactly how it was Northerner, left in the dark whilst the next person had their drops. Didn't take long though, they said half an hour or more, but more like 15 minutes.

Hi slipper welcome
Sounds like you have lots to contend with, I had me for 4 years 20 years ago, it's a bitch :( hope yours is manageable
