Are you asking from the point of view of wanting to increase the serum calcium level or is your level too high.
Dietary calcium will increase the serum level as will supplements but Vitamin D is also required for adequate absorption of calcium. Often calcium supplements will be a combination of Vit D and calcium.
My serum calcium is too high ,I do have familial some long name calcium !!! but it has risen and is a concern for the GP that has taken over from my retired GP (I dropped into his in tray ) !! I do eat a lot of calcium rich foods so I am trying to find out if this is causing the rise in calcium serum .Thanks for your input
