Hi all my first post. What is the consensus about taking cod liver oil daily whilst on Mdttformin. I am trying a no carb,no salt, no sugar diet with regular exercise. Also it's so confusing with all the information out there. Can anyone recommend a informative no nonsense web site a out what to eat etc. Thank you.

Hi Igorbab69, welcome to the forum 🙂 Have you been diagnosed long? I don't foresee any problems with taking cod liver oil, I'd suggest asking your pharmacist next time you go in 🙂

I'd recommend having a read of Maggie Davey's letter, it will give you a very comprehensive overview. It's hard to give a definitive guide to what to eat as people's tolerances can vary for the same things, but the letter will give you a good grounding 🙂 I presume you mean a 'low carb', not a 'no carb' diet?

If you have any questions, please ask away! 🙂

Please do not try to do no salt - in the warm weather the cramps are excruciating. I put a small pinch of salt in my morning coffee and when it gets really hot I add salt to my salads.

Actually, it's a good thing, great source of Omega-3

I eat mountains of Oily Fish. I am an sparkie & often on hands & knees on hard floors., I think it oils my joints :D
