Hi everyone. After 7 years as a T2D I still couldnt get BSG under control and medication was just increasing but I was recently offered Bydurion 1 a week pen injection. This mornings injection was week 2. The lowest reading I got during the week was 8.2 which was great as I used to be anywhere between 13-22. The day after the 1st injection I felt nauseous which lasted a day which i could just about cope with and the rest of the week I was ok in fact, I felt a bit more energetic. Downside for me is I still need a shot of biscuit or chocolate and the occasional jelly sweet. Dont eat eggs or fish, so thinking ip new ideas for a meal difficult but really trying to do better. Wondered if there was anyway of getting a diet made up specially for my likes. Anyway, week 2 injection taken and wondered what to expect from now on?

Hello @Jaycee10 . Welcome to the forum. Sorry I can’t help with your querie as I have no experience with Bydurion.
Others here should be able to though.

To get some ideas on what to eat have a read through

recipes here.
Some of the recipes taste indulgently sinful but are often low in carbohydrates.

Hi Lin,
I’m on metformin SR 2 x 500g twice a day, gliclazide 1 x 40mg 3 times a day, Alogliptin 1 x 25mg a day.
Amlodipine 1 x 5mg a day. Losarten 1 x 100mg a day and lastly Atorvastatin 1 x 20mg a day.
Now trying this Bydurion pump 2mg once a week. 2nd dosage yesterday and had a headache when I woke this morning but not sure if that’s the reason. Going to carry on for the rest of the month till I go for a review on the 28th.

I’ve just had a look at this patient info leaflet
https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/files/pil.3650.pdf
In section 4 about possible side effects amongst other things it mentions Vomiting.
If you haven’t already done so , I would have a read through that whole section if I were you as some of them would worry me.

If you give us an idea of Your food likes and dislikes I’m sure we can help.

Hello Lin, I’ve now completed day 3 of my 2nd pen injection of Bydurion. Haven’t read side effects otherwise I wouldn’t take anything at all. No sign of vomiting yet so hopefully this may not be affecting me. As far as likes and dislikes.... hate fish inc seafood, eggs, pork, bananas cottage cheese and don’t have anything too spicy. . Like chicken, lamb, beef, potatoes, pasta, yoghurts, salads including coleslaw, potato salad, especially like biscuits, cakes, crisps and chocolate which I have greatly reduced
