Absolutely carry on @spell! I know from your other post that you feel like giving up, and you certainly have a lot to be bitter about, it's a right old list of issues you have, but it's never too late. I'm 63 and now look like a bag of bones that needs ironing, but I'm happy! Ok, I'm on antidepressants as well as metformin and statins, and I can't medicate to accommodate carbs, but for a 63 year old I figure I'm doing ok. All 3 of my "best" friends have much more complex medical needs than me (terminal cancer, Parkinsons and MS) so I need to be upbeat to help them as well as myself.
We are rooting for you, and sending you positive vibes x

Carry on @spell - one day at a time, and congratulate yourself on any success no matter how tiny. Health issues are absolute rubbish but you’re not alone. Keep going.

In all honesty at least half of your conditions can be greatly improved by you yourself 🙂
How about thinking of something positive in life instead of stagnating in a pool of self-pity?
If you haven't got a dog and can keep one give a dog a home, as they always lighten people's moods and give the owner a motivation to carry on and also makes you exercise which again is all to the good. You will also meet an amazing array of people whilst out with your four-legged friend
If you cannot have a dog, perhaps find a rehoming centre or something like the Cinnamon trust and volunteer to walk dogs for clients who are a lot less fortunate then you, me or anyone else.

I have MS, type 1 diabetes for almost 58 years, Addison's disease and an unwelcome cyst on my pancreas which causes chronic pancreatitis plus a few other autoimmune conditions. I manage each condition individually and just get on with life.

Have to say @Pumper_Sue, part of the joy of my walks is meeting dog walkers who kindly let me have a cuddle with their pooches and have a natter with the owners. I still miss my wee border terrier, can't get another dog due to work and looking after my 95 year old dad (plus visiting poorly friends!) but Cinnamon Trust is a great idea, I'd forgotten about that....I will make enquiries.

Diabetes is hard work, and frustrating. And dealing with that alongside depression makes it doubly hard - because the stickability, determination, self belief and self worth are much harder to come by.

You matter. You deserve to be happy. Your kids and yoir partner need you (even if you say you feel you are hard work some times). You have people around you who care for you, who would be devastated if you weren’t around.

I agree with @Inka

See if there is some small improvement you can make, no matter how seemingly small or insignificant.

Any small improvements you can make to your BG levels will really help. Reducing BG fluctuations can improve the symptoms of some of the things you are dealing with.

Keep going.

Keep going.

Spell, perhaps you could start another (question) thread about "why we are all made imperfect?" You might encourage some open discussion and answers that might help you understand.
Possibly, personally I think it's because I'm being punished, diabetes is just part of it.
