I have been a bit disorganised with my eating. My hba1c of 44 has made me lazy. My best friend gave me a BG monitor for Christmas I toyed with the idea of returning it to Amazon but am going to use it. It is the more modern version of one

I was given. I'm assuming strips will be expensive. I am finishing off strips I have for my older one so decided to test this morning. I went to my local farmshop cafe for a fry up. They served me quicker than I expected. The first strip I used failed. So I decided not to test. However having eaten small biscuit with coffee poached egg and half slice of sourdough I changed my mind. New strip worked it was 11 am and 6.8. I finished off tomato mushroom bacon and hash brown. Two hours after first test which was more than two hours after I had started eating, it was 7.1

Can I tell anything from this? The naughties were half slice of sourdough under poached egg the small biscuit with coffee and the9 hash brown. It's my first hash brown for more than a year. I had declined the beans and left the other half slice of sour dough.

The good news is I've bought sea trout, hake seabass and samphire at the fishmongers and veg from farmshop.

Not really as your testing was rather random as it was interspersed with eating. The testing that will tell you something is to make sure you test before anything passes you lips and after 2hours not eating or drinking anything, water is fine or drinks without milk.

I thought that would be the answer! I had planned to test eat then test later but when strip failed I was hungry, not eaten or drunk anything since the night before then had a rethink and decided to have another go.
 
if you test just before you eat and two hours after that way you can see wot foods affect you and how

As above is what I do, eg: test immediately before eating, then two hours after I started eating. 😎
 
I don't know if my post made clear. I pricked my finger, put a strip in the monitor but I got an error code. My meal was delivered and I thought shall I shan't I test. I havent tested for a week. I then started to eat and thought I should test but knew I had eaten some of my meal. I know it is not the normal routine but I ate a piece of bread and a hash brown so thought it would be interesting to see how high I went.
