Ive been in insulin for bout two months but recently ive started to get golf ball size bruises on my stomach.i inject in my stomach but change places everytime

Hi Welcome. Have they changed your needles ?

Hi Nie and welcome to the forum, where you shown a certain technique to inject when they first put you on it, ive been getting small lumps when injecting and I was told my way of injecting needed tweaking

Hi. What brand and size of needles are you using, we here have found some are better than others.
We all get the occasional bruise from time to time but it should only be occasional.
Just incase you're technique needs a little tweaking I've found a link on here.

I don't know if this applies to you but I have some spare flesh lol. I've found slightly stretching my skin rather than pouching on insertion then remove hand till your ready to remove the needle , then slightly stretching the skin again is best for me, don't try it if you don't have any spare flesh though .
Let us know how you get on.

I'm the same as Lin - spreading the skin flat with finger and thumb of left hand, then stabbing with my right, then relaxing my left hand as I depressed the plunger, counting to 10, then stretching the skin again but not as tight as before, removing the needle and instantly pressing the hole with my left index finger for a few secs.

Sounds terribly complicated, breaking it down like that - but it isn't! You could I spose, just 'massage' quickly - a quick light rub - around the site for a few secs, to try and start the insulin dispersion?
