HIRUDOID cream or gel may be the answer - it's soothing and relieving - for the treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis and the soothing relief of superficial bruising and haematoma.

HIRUDOID CREAM 50g - £5.99 (Prices may vary on different sites &/or shops -pharmacies)

I like to use my local Pharmacy as much as possible. Felt guilty yesterday using the hospital to buy the Pre-op wash.
I agree grovesy - but good to buy online for those who are unable to make it to the shops or pharmacies x

I don't think WL is specifically stating here that she has particularly bad bruising I think she is just letting others know, correct me if I'm wrong here though @wirralass and depending on how many tests I do a day like just now I'm doing around 7 my fingers as very bruised and I alternate fingers and sides every time x

Yes Kaylz you're precisely right, thank you for picking up on this. I used to have extremely bruised fingers & thumbs until @Northerner pointed out to me best not to use thumbs, index fingers or finger pads - but to test on sides of fingers instead no matter how many times we test - and also to adjust the depth number on the lancet device. Some newbies may not know this & thus cause unnecessary bruising to occur so I merely suggested that Hirudoid may help those who easily bruise their fingers - or alternatively for that matter, any bruising on the body. I always wash my hands before testing. Take care x

Have a go of the Libre. I used to be able to get blood out of my fingers without sharps. Not a good idea so stopped. 😉

I certainly cant afford a Libre x
