Molly Williams hits the hardwood often while diving for digs as a volleyball setter at Bishop Brossart High School. She's been upended at second base by runners attempting to steal while playing for the Mustangs' softball team and she's banged bodies in the paint the past three years as a basketball player.
Williams has excelled in the rough-and-tumble world of high school sports while wearing an insulin pump. She is a lifelong type-1 diabetes sufferer. The subsequent lack of insulin leads to increased blood sugar. She needs to control the amount of sugar in her blood through insulin injection because her pancreas hasn't produced enough insulin-producing beta cells since birth.
