David Cameron announced in 2011 a new ?23million fund to roll out better treatment to all those in need within two years.

However, a damning investigation by Lib Dem MP and cancer campaigner Tessa Munt reveals that less than half of cancer *centres are able to deliver the most advanced method of treating tumours, Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR).

She accused the NHS of wasting taxpayers? money and risking lives by buying outdated kit that can only treat five per cent of patients. ?I was shocked by what I discovered,? she said.

?Not only have we not been treating the range of *cancers we should be but the NHS has been investing in the wrong technology and wasting millions of pounds on radiotherapy machines that are not up to the job.?
