British scientists close to finding a cure for diabetes after six years of research

A cure for insulin-dependent diabetes could be closer than ever before.

British scientists believe they are close to discovering a cure for the condition.

A team of researchers, led by Professor Lucy Walker, have spent six years investigating the cause of the condition, called Type 1 diabetes.

Now they have found the actual cell that triggers the process leading to a patient’s pancreas becoming unable to produce insulin on its own.
