I haven't been able to go out for any length of time for a while now but if I lived in Bath there is one event I would make a special effort to attend 🙂 I really would love to be there to watch Northener dressed for the occasion. All the very best we know you will run well despite your dress 😉

Thank you pippin, and many thanks to you and your dad for all your support! :D

p.s. watch out for the news - I'll probably break the land speed record for fairies! 🙂

All the very best. Those of us who can't be there in person will be supporting you in spirit (or should that be sprite?)

Well, the time is almost upon me! Trying to make sure that I've got everything prepared and had a full 'dress rehearsal' today to iron out a few niggles with the costume (no, that doesn't mean I went out and ran 13.1 miles in it!)

If anyone is coming to either event, here are the details:

Bristol, Saturday 10th March

Venue: V-Shed, from 12pm http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/pubs/v-shed
The Waterfront
Canons Road
Bristol
City of Bristol
BS1 5UH

Attending:
Me, Medusa, ukjohn, katie and possibly EDUAD (Mike)

Bath, Sunday 11th March

If anyone would like to come and support me or join me in a celebratory drink afterwards (or both, of course!) then I intend to make my way to The
King of Wessex Wetherspoons pub at around 2-2:30pm, depending on my finish time. Please let me know if you'd like to meet me there before Friday evening or I won't know otherwise! 🙂 If anyone would like to meet me before the race, please let me know.

Full details of the Bath Half can be found here:

I think that's it! It would be great if anyone who lives in the area can come along and give me a cheer as I glide by in my gossamer wings! And so you all know who to look out for...

Don't forget, it's not too late to donate, and I know DWED would really appreciate every penny! :D

It's lovely and mild here in Somerset this morning - guess that's not what the runners particularly want so perhaps it will be more to their liking tomorrow. Whatever the weather, hope our Fairy gets a warm reception as he glides by.

I hope you fly along Alan:D and all people going to support Alan, I hope you have a lovely day.
We wan't photos please.

all the best Alan

just to say it was nice to meet those who went to the meet in bristol today, wish i could have stayed a bit longer 🙂 wish you all the best with tomorrow 🙂

Have a great run, I see you have accessorised:D (I think)😱

Yes, it was great to put some faces to the names. Alan, Medusa (Claire) UKJohn and Katie arrived shortly after I had to leave I think. Alan was looking forward(!) to tomorrow. Hope he doesn't get too hot in the Bath sunshine 🙂

Oh sorry to have missed Katie..... my folks couldnt stay long today so was tied to time for babysitting, is nice to meet other people who understand exactly what it is all about though

It was nice meeting Claire and Mike for the first time today, and I hope to meet them again sometime, I've known Katie from the forum quite a long time but the first time I had met her also, she is a nice girl.

Mike...My 3.5 at lunch time, turned into 3.4 at teatime lol

I sent Alan home to bed early, I left him at about 7 pm, I thought he should spent a nice night with the fairy before tomorrow..

John.

Pleased you all had a good time & well done "NORTHY" !! 😎😎😎

Yikes! Hope you had a little something to sort it out 🙂

I saw Alan twice during the run and he stopped off for a chat on his second lap!

He looked very tired and said the heat was making things hard as the dress was made of some material that was making him very hot.

I didn't get chance to catch up with him after the run unfortunately as I am pretty sure I have a mild chest infection and didn't have the energy to stand outside for much longer.

🙂

It gave me a real boost to see you Shiv! I got great support all the way round, but it was extra special to see a face I recognised, thank you so much for coming to see me run 🙂
