Firstly thank you all so much for your help and advice over the last 6 months, I have been pre diabetic for the past 5 years and 6 months ago my HbA1c went up to 49,
I started a low carb diet following the carb and calorie book recommended on here, todays result is 40.
I am absolutely delighted, i walk at least an hour a day and lost just over a stone ,
Many thanks xx

Wow, that's fabulous! Well done @pippen, that is really good news :D

Great news and well done, first for taking the advice and more importantly putting it into action. Brilliant results x

your input and knowledge will be welcomed especially to newbies, well done.

Yes that book is great as you can see what a portion has in it what an eye opener it has helped me no end as it has for you.

That is great news. Well done

Many congratulations! So pleased your hard work has paid off but having the right advice is all important and then putting it into practice. So sad that the NHS don't get that advice right as it could help thousands more people. Hopefully the tide is slowly changing with that.

Good luck in maintaining your new normal HbA1c level and perhaps getting remission status.... 2 consecutive readings in the normal range without medication.

Out of curiosity how easy or difficult are you finding eating low carb and has it become easier or harder as time has gone on?

It must admit it took about 10 weeks to get my head round the new meals..but definitely sorted now and won't slip back

Great news that you are finding it easier now and I hope that inspires others who may be struggling through that initial adjustment period as I know I also found it difficult, but really enjoy my diet now.
