Hi all, this is not Diabetes related, as such! I will need to find out about the Diabetic care in the area.
This is more related to my son. My son has very complex mental health issues, it's a very long and complicated story so I won't delve into it!....Some of the problem relates geographically. We live on the Isle Of Wight you see, and here, it is very difficult as there is no Gay community, well, not out in the open or very acive anyhow!
What I mean is, is that there are no resources here for young Gay people...You see, my youngest son is Gay. Whilst his sexuality is not an issue for him or us, it does have an impact on his life in terms of feeling lonley and isolated, and means that living here is not a great place for him to live or flourish in. The Island has a backward mentality and does not celebrate diversity at all!
We feel that we need to start thinking about moving...and what better place than Brighton to have access to Gay resources. The problem is that I do not know Brighton well, I have been told that it is a 'rough' place to live and that there are many 'No Go Areas' for Gay people?....Can anyone tell me what areas, or estates to avoid please?....We are not home owners, we would have to rent. I just would be so grateful of any thoughts on living in Brighton please.
I know this may seem like a drastic move to make, but, like I said, this is very complcated, I feel my sons life depends on this move.
