Doctors have said leaving the EU is “bad for Britain’s health” as they endorsed a public vote on the final Brexit deal.

A motion opposing Brexit, supporting membership of the European single market and calling for the public to have a final say on the terms of the deal was passed at the British Medical Association (BMA) annual meeting in Brighton on Wednesday.

The motion said the deal should be put to the public “now that more is known regarding the potential impact of Brexit on the NHS and the nation’s health”.

Dr William Sapwell, who proposed the motion, said: “The fact is that the government is woefully underprepared to ensure the United Kingdom’s health and wellbeing is secure in time for the self-imposed deadline of 29 March 2019. Brexit is bad for Britain’s health. Let’s put that on the side of a big red bus and once we have made that clear, the public should vote on the deal.”

BREXIT is just so totally wrong in every aspect.
This farce should just be stopped and totally reversed now.
It was nothing more than a xenophobic, racist vote where the UK population were blatantly lied to by Farage et al.
It really does depress me and I shudder for my kids and all other young peoples future. The only thing that keeps me here is my every growing family otherwise I would be living in Penang now.
Business will leave the UK in droves.

When I was watching the referendum vote results, when the Sunderland result came in, I commented that they had just voted their jobs out of existence. Looks like I was right.

Nobody, especially the Brexteers, thought this through. They forgot that the NHS runs on immigrants. They forgot they persuaded Japanese car builders into the UK by selling ease of access to the EU market. They forgot about the Good Friday agreement, and later have shown they don’t care, and it will cause mayhem in Gibraltar.

Yes, now we are seeing the likely results of Brexit, they should ask the people again. That’s democracy, not the sick fantasies of a cabal of politicians.

OH and I made the same comment re Sunderland @mikeyB. We live in Norfolk and only Norwich voted remain, all rural areas and towns voted leave and they are reliant on EU subsidies and economic migrants to pick the fruit and vegetables . After the result farmers were the first to start demanding money from the Government to replace the subsidies from the EU! Completely bonkers. We are Europe's cautionary tale :(
