Hello again, Elaine (I have just replied to your message on the Newbies section.)
For breakfast, as with most meals I try to not eat very many carbohydrates.
So I either have a yoghurt or egg based breakfast.

I have full fat greek style yoghurt with a few blueberries, seeds, nuts and cinnamon. (Most fruits are quite high in carb so try to limit to one portion per day. usually berries.)
Alternatively I have scrambled egg with tomato, or boiled egg with celery sticks, or poached egg on a grilled mushroom
Weekend special is turkey rasher, fried egg, tomato and mushrooms.

For drinks I am mainly a cup of teas person, and also drink a lot of water.
Hope this helps

Coffee in my big Harry Potter mug! Can't begin the day without coffee (tea is for lunchtime and teatime :D ) And usually a permutation of mushrooms/couple plum tomatoes/eggs on a slice of Burgen, Hovis Nimble or LivLife toast.

The reason you were advised to stop the Weetabix was to reduce the amount of carbohydrate. Simply switching to another high carb food, a banana, is unlikely to help.

Hi. Yes, we need to avoid bananas nice though they are. Keep the carbs down so eggs and bacon are a good choice. I do have a very small portion of homemade muesli together with blueberries and cold milk as an option

Hi @Elaine56 and welcome to the club you didn't want to join!
Have always understood having a good breakfast to be important.
Unfortunately bananas aren't a good choice nor most breakfast cereals as they are quick release carbs.
As others have advised a low carb menu is better - so proteins and fats. If like me you need some carbs as well then slower release ones like porridge or grains are better.
We're all different so ideally you should monitor the impact of different foods.
It's early days for you, so even thinking about your diet and ditching high carbs and sweet snacks will already be bringing benefits I guess. Good luck. Nick

1kg of Coffee beans ground then brewed.....also, coupla boiled eggs and maybe half a sarnie, it's tough eating before 6am so have to force it down.
*note* Not really 1kg of coffee, just seems like it. 🙂

Hello Elaine. Welcome to the forum.

My approach is always (I use that term loosely) eat what I want but try and minimise the carbohydrate (not drastically so, but less than I used to have).

I also had a blood glucose monitor which I initially used to determine whether I had got the carb levels right. I don't test any more because I pretty much know what works and what doesn't!

If you can afford it ( the test strips for the meter retail at least £8 for a pot of 50), I suggest you get a meter too. Then you will be able to see if weetabix (3, 2 or just 1) are ok for you or not.

P.s. Just noticed that you said weetabix drink. My advice remains the same. 🙂
