Yesterday, breakfast was a lot more crunchy than usual... I discovered a lump had fallen off one of my teeth at the very back. Luckily there was no pain. Went to the dentist this morning - he said there's a big hole (interpreted as 'ye gods there's very little tooth left'😱)and it's wobbly. You can either leave it as it as and hope, have a crown (about £230😱), or have it extracted. When he realised my medical situation he removed the 'leave it' option from the list.
So, now I'm sitting here with a large hole 😱 and the anaesthetic wearing off. I didn't fancy paying that for a tooth that might not survive long.

This is going to be a very low carb day 🙂 but possibly painful :(.

Oh Susan.
What a pain. I've literally had 2 teeth that fell out about 2 weeks apart and even put one of fb cause of the pure size of it so now have a big hole back of my bottom set of teeth. Hope you aren't made to suffer to much throughout today x

Hate it when that happens! :( I've had a few bits breaking off over the past few years, no pain, just bits breaking :(

I hope the gum heals quickly {{{HUGS}}}

I recall many years ago whilst at the dental school in Birmingham, where I'd gone with unfathomable to other dentists, constant toothache - me saying 'I do seem to have a tooth right at the back that's gone very sharp just in the last week - but I can touch it and poke at it with my tongue and it seems not to be anything to do with where the pain is' (- which I'd had for about 6 months by then)

So the two medical students had a quick look and said Well! - one of your bottom wisdom teeth has broken in two - so it's probably been the cause of the whole trouble all along! And so it was. Such a relief when it was whipped out half an hour later.

It's worth suffering the temporary discomfort Sue, than having toothache. Hope you still heal well!

It will soon heal up and you wont notice it after a couple of weeks I had all my top teeth and most of the bottom ones out in January and I am now eating most thing OK😉 Will be getting my new dentures tomorrow (hopefully). wishing you well and it is not to painfull . Ibuprofen worked well for me.
