Breakfast and sweetners

I am continuing to investigate breakfast meals

I am removing porrage and replacing with yougart and fruit, but noticed I could maybe use Shreddied wheat and was wondering if I could use a sweetner like Pure Via, which is a plant based sweetner - just a little

Has anyone tried this?

thanks

(I'm trying to steer clear of cereal in the morning as it takes a lot from your carb allowance in one hit, I use Tesco sweetener on my Weetabix if I have them, not sure on the effects of sweetener though, didn't give it a second thought to tell the truth

Replacing porridge with a different cereal like Shredded Wheat may not benefit you. Without testing your own body's response to each different breakfast option, you have no way of knowing, but natural Greek (style) yoghurt with a few berries would be lower carb than either porridge or Shredded Wheat so should cause less of a rise in BG levels.

Yeah, was looking for an alternative to yogart everyday... ohh yes, just noticed the carb hit :(... scrub that lol

If the intention is to remove the sugar from breakfast and use a sweetener instead it would be worth taking into account that the Shredded Wheat in itself is around 65% carbohydrate, Weetabix around 70%.

My breakfasts are very low carb - steak with mushrooms and a little onion; a chop with stirfry; scrambled eggs cheese and a tomato; tuna and salad; leftovers from dinner the day before such as mashed swede eggs and cheese baked in the oven, cold meat, swede or cauliflower fried as bubble and squeak, with bacon and eggs.
I do have to stay really low carb to keep my numbers normal, but I don't really feel deprived.

Boiled eggs, poached eggs, scrambled egg with smoked salmon, kippers, bacon with eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, high meat content sausages, I slice of toast may be fine.
A keto granola to add to your yoghurt and berries, M & S grain free fruit and nut granola is only 9g carbs per 100g as opposed to shredded wheat or weetabix at nearly 70g per 100g.
