Hi @Daffers really is. A monitor is a really empowering tool and I wish GPs would recommend them more often! Thanks helli, It’s hard to know if the changes I’m making with diet and exercise are helping when I only have a blood test once a year.
Thank you for your advice on getting a BG monitor, I will certainly think about getting one. Thought I would try and get another blood test done now I’ve changed my diet and do more walking to see if that is helping at all. A year is a long time to wait to see if the changes I’ve made are doing any goodWelcome to the forum @Daffers
If you think it would be helpful to monitor your own BG levels with a home meter, and find that your GP is unwilling to provide one, the most affordable meters members here have found are the SD Gluco Navii or the Spirit Tee2 - which both have test strips at around £8 for 50
There are lots here who can help you interpret the results to improve your levels after eating 🙂
