What do you mean by safe, if you mean what impact it will have on your bs only you can make that decision by testing and finding out x

Yes, it depends on how well and how much you can tolerate without too much impact on your blood sugar levels, so you need to experiment and use your meter to learn your responses. People can vary considerably in how they react, and it may even depend on the time of day e.g. a lot of people are more insulin-resistant in the morning so have to limit carbs for breakfast, but may be able to tolerate then better later in the day 🙂

I tend to limit myself to 2 slices a day. I might have an extra slice at the weekend, but try to spread them over the day.

I don't eat bread anymore either, I stopped buying it ages ago, because I was only using a couple of slices out of the loaf and throwing the rest away.

Personally I don't eat bread anymore except for the very occasional treat

I keep a couple of cut loaves in the freezer because I can then take out a slice at a time so the loaf does not get wasted. It usually lasts for weeks because I am not eating any and my husband just takes out the occasional slice for some toast. Also should I have to feed someone who came round unexpected I can always make a sandwich. As to how many you should have, as said before, it is horses for courses.

I've actually cut down to 2 slices a day which is good for me as I love bread .. I'm hooked on that burgen bread

D

do u find it stays as fresh tho
If you leave it in for months, it tends to dry out at the top and go soggy underneath, but a week or two is fine, it comes out fresher than if you'd kept it a couple of days in a bread bin, and definitely fresher than if it's been in the fridge. Put the slices you're defrosting in a plastic bag, though, else they dry out while they're defrosting if open to the air. (If I'm toasting it, I do it from frozen)
