A DUNFERMLINE schoolgirl who was diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes at the age of four now wants to help other kids with the disease.
Kind-hearted Chelsey Millar (now seven), of Linsey MacDonald Court, will hold a charity coffee morning for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) at St Ninian's Church from 10.30am-1pm on Saturday.
Chelsey, a Primary 3 pupil at Touch Primary, has organised the event together with family friend and schoolmate Chloe Hebenton (11), who was also found to have the condition recently.
More than 29,000 children in the UK have Type-1 diabetes, where the body is unable to produce insulin, the hormone that allows glucose to move from the bloodstream into cells.
