NHS chiefs overseeing a massive Greater Manchester-wide health shake-up have defended spending more than £3m on financial consultants.
The Healthier Together overhaul, due to go out to consultation next month, will see NHS services radically reconfigured in the biggest restructure for more than 60 years.
Detailed plans have yet to be announced, but bosses argue it will save thousands of lives by improving GP access and focusing specialist care in certain hospitals.
But Blackley and Broughton MP Graham Stringer has launched an attack on the project - including its consultants’ bill for last year.
