THURROCK has a good record for children getting the MMR jab, a councillor has explained.

Measles and the MMR inoculation has been in the news this week after an outbreak in south Wales.

But Cllr Barbara Rice, Thurrock Council?s portfolio holder for health, said there were no reported cases of measles this year up to the end of March in the borough and only two cases the year before that.

She said: ?Thurrock has a good history on measles and take-up of the MMR immunisation programme.
