Well hello there people,am new to all of this as only diagnosed type 1 three weeks ago and have been searchin the internet for help and advice ever since,and i must say its has been a good help,however these forums are brillant,have found out so much just reading other peoples posts,and makes u realise u are not alone,as not really many people i know are diabetic,anyway this is my official hello and look forward to chattin to u all soon.
 
Hi imissharibos, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis - how did it come about? What insulin regime are you on? Best bit of advice I could start you off with is to get hold of a copy of Type 1 Diabetes in Children, Adolescents and Young People by Ragnar Hanas - absolute gold 🙂 If you've got any questions or concerns, please do ask and we'll try our best to help out 🙂
 
Hi northener and thanks for reply,all come about whilst on holiday and eyesight went completly blurred but because of my lack of knowledge i just put it down to clorene in the pool,and put my extreme thirst down to being in a hotter climate,wasnt until getting back and experienceing pain all in my legs that something was definatly wrong,and that it was time to go the docs where within 5 min told me it was diabetes and get up the hospital. i am takein novarapid 3 times a day plus me lantis which i have on 26 a time.just tryin to get me head round all this carb counting now.plus tryin to watch the footy with a cup of tea is hard work,lol.

Haha,good old beduff!!! Hi there,last time i spoke to nurse she was still trying to get me on it,will be ringing her on monday so hopefully something has been arranged🙂
