Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I have been type 2 since 1995 and I have been on ever increasing loads of pills (plus Liraglutide) until I rattle when I walk. My pancreas has now officially been declared as knackered, and so I am about to join the Insulin club, hopefully on the once a day plus 3 x rapid regime.

Would be delighted to hear from anybody else who has been down the same road and has any campaigning hints to ease me in!

Hi John, welcome to the forum 🙂 I've been on insulin since I was diagnosed. I think it brings its own set of problems and conundrums, but in many ways it offers much better flexibility and control than oral meds. Part of the problem for many T2s can be insulin resistance, meaning large doses are required, so that may be an issue. We have many T2s on insulin, I'm sure they will offer you great support as you find your way 🙂

Welcome to the forums John 🙂

Hi woodworm and welcome. As soon as I started on Insulin I felt a whole lot better in the first 15 minutes. As long as you do as the diabetic nurse tells you you will be fine. I started off type 2 for two weeks and then onto Insulin as I wasnt getting any better (Doctors, huh). Been type 1 since 1988 and now 65yrs old and never felt better. Listen to your nurse they are the experts.

Hi John and a warm welcome to the forum
