Two days ago I went see my GP about some medicine and he decided he wanted to see how much I weigh, 77kg was the read and then with my height he said my BMI 26 and I was overweight!
I told him I have lost body fat and not too much weight, but he still insisted that I need to lose at least 3kg!
Not happy as I have done a lot of hard work to bring my BG right down, going to gym , carb controlled diet etc.
I went to the gym and noticed a machine and it gives you a breakdown of your body composition.
I was surprised by the reads, fat is 21%, muscle is 45% and hydration level is 56% hardly overweight!!
So my issue is why do we still use BMI, it is not accurate and misleading.
