I went to queens hospital yesterday for a catarack op did a blood test on my meter 19.2 . Then by chances the nurse came a long seconds later and did one on the same finger and her meter it came up 11.o, what do you think, my meter is weeks old it is a ACCU-CHEK mobile.

There can be variations between tests, even from the same finger at the same time, and on occasion there can be a faulty test - a variation of 7 mmol/l is a very large discrepancy, at most it should be 1-2 mml/l difference. If I'm not sure about the accuracy of a test e.g. if it doesn't match how I am feeling, then I will retest. I think in this case I would have been tempted to retest after the nurse had done hers to see if there was the same disparity.
