Hi all I need a rant.

I HATE blood tests. I'm really not good with the needles involved. I know it's silly as I inject multiple times a day but a blood test is completely different and I get all worked up.

2weeks ago I had my full diabetic review blood test. However some stupid people at the hospital did a full blood count with it instead of my hba1c.
So I went back today to begrudgingly have another one done.

Poor nurse tried three different times and my body refused to give any blood.

So frustrated as I now I have to go back again next Wednesday so that they can try again.

So fed up!!

Ouch! Poor you. :(

I'm lucky enough to have ONE visible vein that has been stabbed frequently since childhood. Unfortunately whenever I end up in hospital (always asthma-related) they manage to damage it, so they have to fish around for deeply buried ones. Once they've done their worst with all four limbs, next stop is the groin. 😱

That's bad enough, but with acute asthma they also have to do arterial blood gasses - sticking the needles into pulse points to extract the bright pink blood. Be very grateful you're going for an HbA1C! :D

So sorry to hear this Megan :( I do hope they manage to get things quickly next time, and get the blooming tests right! 😡

LeeLee, I still remember the arterial blood gas that was taken on me when I was diagnosed, couldn't work out why the man was hurting me so much when I was so ill :(

Ok leelee I shall stop complaining lol x

I hate going for blood tests too, especially fasting ones because there is always somone eating in the clinic. It drives me nuts they are eating and I have to wait for my breakfast when I am starving.
