Blood Tester - Advice

Hello, I am looking for some help and advice.
I've have Type 1 Diabetes for over 24 years, generally I keep it in check. I do tests 4/5 times a day and I carbo count. Of course now and again I feel a Hypo or Hyper coming on.

My current tester is the iBG Star, which I used to link to my iPhone. I was good when it started but I find it very antiquated now. The data and results can't been loaded onto a diabetes management App like OneDrop, Logbook or Dario.

For me it is important to have my sugar results in an app where I can quickly enter the carbs that I am about to consumer, and of course also put in details of my exercise.

So I am looking for a new Blood Tester that comes with an App that allows me to do this. Any body else in a similar situation? Any advice! :)

Sorry can't help with particular make or model, but some doctors will not prescribe just any strips. So it might be worth discussing options with your surgery first!

I've heard very good results regarding the Dario, haven't used it as my pump does all of the working out for me.

Your best bet is probably mySugr - this is a 'generic' app but lets you input all the data you need, and allows you to directly import your results from certain blood sugar meters by scanning them with the iPhone camera.

Here's all the compatible meters:

As some additional info, in my experience, Accu-Chek are very happy to provide you with a meter free of charge if you ring up and ask for one, explaining that you're a T1 who tests 8-10 times a day.

Would you need an App, if you used eg the Accu-chek 'Expert' meter though?
