blood test ?

im having my check up and they have requested the usaul bloods but they have requested a bone profile test does anybody know why or what it will show.How old are you? One possibility is they are checking for osteoporosis if there is a history of it in your family. There are certain checks done on us ladies past 40 and I think this is one of them.
If no other options present themselves ask who ever ordered the tests. Most likely it is just for reassurance and to make sure things are as they should be...

I wouldn't worry about it, and certainly don't get scared. If they were concerned about something in particular they would have discussed it with you; it must just be a routine test. Bone profiles can show all sorts of things, like how your uptake of phosphate and calcium is doing and what the ratio between them is. If you've reached an age milestone lately, like Caroline said, it might be routine for you now.
