I've just phoned the doctors and I'm shaking. My ESR level has now climbed to 37 and my c reactive protein is 22. They haven't got the lupus/autoimmune result back yet but there is a note that I need to see my GP about the test results I have got. My nice GP is only in Wednesday morning this week so I have to phone on the morning to try to get an appointment with her. I'm now getting very worried

Please try not to worry Amanda, you need someone with experience to interpret the results for you - hopefully the good doctor you got to see last time. Even if you have to see the other doctor, then at least you should be able to expect some answers this time, given what the other doctor ordered for tests. Is there someone who could go with you for moral support? I will be thinking of you {{{Amanda}}}

I know it's easier said than done, try not to worry to much, it's not an emergency appointment, so maybe that might help put your mind at rest, but your dr obviously needs to talk to you about the ongoing problems/test results. The only thing I can think of, is, if you can try to keep busy and occupy your mind with something else and taking someone with you on Wednesday to reassure you and hold your hand🙂 I will be thinking of you and I wish it goes well for you. Take care Amanda Sheena

Thanks Alan and Sheena. If he is able to get away from work then OH will come with me to the appointment. I am using the sick note that I have from the doctor in the hope that another week of rest will help me to get back the strength that I need for work

Sorry to hear this Amanda. Such a worry for you on top of everything else. On a positive note, at least they are taking it seriously now, and as has been said, it's not an emergency appointment so hopefully they can now get to the bottom of it and you can start feeling better. Try not to worry too much and know that we'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for Wednesday. XXXXX

Easier to say than to believe, but blood results can be widely out of normal clinical range without necessarily doing you any harm. Hope the Wednesday morning GP can help you make sense of things - and start working towards some solutions.

Hi amanda, it's a good thing the decent doctor got these tests ordered for you, bet you are so angry with the useless one who just sent you away with no help or further tests. Makes me mad so I will be angry for you!

It's impossible to know what the results mean and although we all have a habit of looking online and terrifying ourselves quite often we worry without cause. That's easy for me to say though.

I do hope that whatever is the problem can be quickly identified and treated. I do feel for you as you have had so much to go through and it just seems to go on and on. Sending lots of love and hugs and good wishes. Hope you have managed to get an appointment with the doctor on Wednesday. Love Karen.x
