hello
i have type 2 diabetes and when i eat salads my bs are between 6 and under.

i have no salad cream.

just iceberg lettuce, 4 slices of ham, tomato, boiled egg, and grated chesse on top.

it is delicious.

Hi Sofistikate and a warm welcome to the forum, well done that figure is brilliant, I hope thats not all you eat mind you lol

I have to have kraft light salad dressing on my salad though 🙂

Hi, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sounds like a very low carb diet is helping you to achieve good blood sugar levels 🙂 Have you been diagnosed long, and are you on any medication for your diabetes?

bs 6 and under

i have been diagnosed for about 20 years now.

im lucky i dont like maionaise or salad cream.

the worst thing is crisps for me, i love them. especially the new crinkle ones.

I have never liked salad cream or mayonnaise or anything remotely like them! I seem to have weaned myself off crisps, I tend to eat nuts instead nowadays as they have fewer carbs 🙂

but talking of low bs, the other day mine went down to 2.5 :(

my daughter told me to get it up a bit so i had half a sandwich and it went up to 6 🙂

Going down to 2.5 suggests that maybe you should have your medication reviewed - you may not need quite so much gliclizide. Really, you should have some fast-acting sugar when you are so low, like full sugar coke, or jelly babies etc. A sandwich may not always bring your levels up quickly enough.

Welcome to the forum sofistikate 🙂

I'm another crisp addict, although I only let myself have two low carb packets (skips or wotsits, both 10gC/packet) per week now.
