Although I'm not an expert on Type 1's, a low carb diet can not cause Ketoacidosis. Low carb diets, if low enough, cause keytones, but this is known as Ketosis, which is not the same thing. Ketoacidosis can occur if blood sugars are constantly too high. The two often get mixed up. Ketoacidosis can be life threatening. Ketosis is not.
