Just new and taking all the advice to buy a blood sugar meter - is this ok?

If you end up doing a lot of tests you might want to invest in a FastClix lancet device (with its proprietary lancet things). It seems to be about the best such device (and it's not that expensive, really). (However, no need to rush into buying one. It's occasionally on sale.)

It is very easy and you only need the smallest drop of blood. I believe there is a link for suggested sampling technique you might want to look at or a Utube video which shows what to do.
