Hi @Toonpig - it's certainly possible. I was feeling exhausted before diagnosis. That's a really big rise - has anything changed for you to account for it?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I would suspect that your high A1c is the cause of your tiredness. Basically you have pure glucose going through your veins and not blood.
How long have you been diagnosed and what medication are you on? Also what's your diet like?

That is a large jump, how have you been managing your diabetes? medication? diet? xx

That 126 gives you an average blood sugar of around 19mmol, so yes that is more than likely the reason for your tiredness. I’d feel awful at that number.

How do you treat your diabetes? Are you on any medication? Are you getting advice from your GP surgery?

Sorry to hear about the dramatic rise in your HbA1c @Toonpig :(

How long have you been diagnosed, and how did your diagnosis come about? Does diabetes run in your family? Is there a chance you might have a slow-onset T1 instead of T2?

Sorry for late reply lost internet for awhile. The nurse said I would probably need to go onto insulin. But still can't get to chat with the doctor been waiting 11 days now. Going for eye test today because my vision keeps going blurry. Just want to know what is happening & what I can do.

Blurred vision sometimes happens when BG is running high because of changes to osmotic pressure which can distort the eyeballs.

I am wondering whether you might be LADA or late-onset T1 rather than T2?

Getting an accurate classification can be really helpful in terms of accessing the right courses and technologies, so it might be worth asking for a cPeptide and GAD test to confirm your diabetes type?
