my blood sugar goes 12.1 after eating chocolate. it goes back down in 20 mins. how long is dangerous for blood sugar to be at 12.1.

A spike up to 12 or more after eating is not too much of an issue, especially as you say it goes back to normal after 20 mins. The aim is to get it down to between 5 and 9 at least 90 minutes after eating (at least for T1s). Do you test before and after eating the chocolate? I find that for me chocolate causes a delayed spike some time after eating it.

Yes, 12.1 is OK every so often. Are you eating 85% Dark Chocolate rather then the popular sugary stuff?
