Those figures look fine to me. (Fasting is maybe a bit high, but maybe it's a one off, maybe the meter's reading a bit high, maybe you're a little bit higher than is usual just as you wake up but generally you're fine...)

If you're worried, talk it over with your GP who can request an HbA1c blood test (approximately an average over about 3 months which gives a much better idea of whether you might need to worry about diabetes or not).

Hello David we haven`t met before but welcome to the forum.

I`ll assume you are T2D, is your fasting figure first thing in the morning and your 4.3 is now?
we need to know what happened inbetween and when you test are you on any medication
for your Diabetes. Normally testing is just before you eat and 2 hours after this will enable you
to know what foods spike your levels and which are ok.

I see my friend Bruce has replied and I have to agree with him although one concern is 4.3 is
a bit low to go to bed on so maybe check again before you go to bed and if the same have a
snack first.

thanks, been worried sick. Actually no idea what I am doing with all this. is the level supposed to go up after you eat or down or just..... Going to work tomorrow and will eat fruit.

Ok Dave please don`t worry a lot of us would be happy with those figures.

Please be a little wary of certain fruits some have a lot of carbs/sugar mostly tropical fruits but certain
"normal" ones can too, doesn`t mean to say you can`t take them that is why testing is crucial.

Your levels will certainly rise but after 2 hours they should be within 2-3mmol of your before meal test.

A lot to learn mate a bit of info on any medication and diagnosis will help, sorry if you have already given
this I will check your previous posts, take care.

Normally it'll go up but your pancreas will release insulin to lower it again to keep it roughly constant. So whether it's higher or lower depends exactly when you measure and how well your pancreas is able to control your levels. (And our meters aren't that accurate, so there can be a bit of just randomness in the measuring process.)

Thanks, Will keep you posted. I have ignored this for so long and my son is type1.
