Hi Guys,
After 5 days of heavy headedness, slight dizziness AND sometimes zombified mornings, I realised that it is the effects of the Indapamide tablets. I just sent an email to my doctor and pharmacist letting them know I will stop taking them with immediate effect.
It's funny how it's usually October issues can arise for me. Last time in 2021, same thing, different tablet. Mood shift and ear pressure. Virtually the same but more subtle.
Just sticking to my Amlodipine and Beetroot juice.

Were you prescribed the new med because your BP had changed @rustee2011

Hope you are able to find an alternative that suits you better.

Do you think it would be worth waiting until you’ve spoken to your GP or practice pharmacist first?

Trusting my gut instinct. Yes, as the doc says Amlodipine isn't enough. However, this is the 4th one that has nasty side effects. As I have lost weight. I hope that will suffice. But either way. I am not taking another Indapamide pill. Once it affects my mood, coupled with going through an a/d episode to Boot. Nope

Since, one of the meds caused my face to swell back in 2017... The doc has advised me to try this one or that one... Nasty side effects. When I was referred to the specialist in 2021, he advised " whether I could tolerate the side effects". I said I couldn't. He opined it would takes ages for beetroot juice to work. I have been drinking it since then. I had stopped for Indapamide.... Back to the homemade beet juice from tonight.

Now, don't get me mistaken. I certainly don't mean I will stop all blood pressure medications, that would be unwise. I was/am taking Amlodipine. Dr had advised to take Indapamide with it. I have been on Amlodipine for a good few years, and I will continue to, unless Dr advises otherwise.
My pharmacist advised me if I do feel adverse side effects to stop taking and let them and my Dr know, which I am doing.

Sounds like you have a good system sorted @rustee2011 - and glad you’ve been getting advice from your pharmacist - those are the specialists in balancing drug interactions after all 🙂
