For years my blood pressure has always been high around the 140 / 85 region with being on 3 meds to control it.

Under my new doc their target was to get it around 130 /85 which I thought was good, after a few trial and errors new med regime was established though had a few teething troubles of getting used to the meds having dizzy spells, which cleared after a week and doc was happy.

Had plans for this weekend, which got suddenly shelved :( I bent down to get something out of a low draw, next thing I was on the floor. Same thing happened a bit later on and wham hit the floor like a sack of spuds and it hurt ended up with carpet burns don't know how I got them.

Picked myself up and checked my blood pressure which was 125 / 60 ouch not good, so how low it went when I hit the deck is another question. Monitoring the rest of the day it was flipping between the high and low levels, and yesterday I did not take the tablet that caused the initial reaction and was ok, though levels were still up and down.

With no sleep last night, this morning finally got some sleep and it was too late to get a docs appointment.

Just wish I could go through a steady patch of things going smoothly for me. It's getting to the point with reacting to meds that every illness and thing wrong with me is one roller coaster after another, brassed off comes to mind, still tomorrows another day :D

Pav...sorry to hear about the blood pressure problems...worrying...amazed your surgery didn't at least get you to speak to one of the doctors about the low blood pressure yesterday...they should have let you speak to one of them straight away...hope you can resolve this today...and managed to get some sleep...keep us updated...good luck.

Managed to get a appointment later this morning, mentioned BP problems and they have fitted me in 🙂

Good to hear that Pav...and so they should.

Interested to hear about blood pressure meds with diabetes meds. I am hoping to avoid statins for altogether as I had high cholesterol and hope this has come down. But despite starting back at the gym in this latest stretch of being home, my BP has gone from High to Pre-high and just won't budge from there. It flirts with 80, then decides 'nahhhh'!. I can't see the doc not prescribing something for that as it has been measurably high since February after my mother died.

I am on a mission to avoid as many tablets as I can, while my GP seems to want to turn me into a walking pair of maracas....

My blood pressure is always too high as well, it's a nightmare. How did the appointment go?

My doc seems pleased if my b/p is 140/80 but it shoots up alarmingly in the surgery. Always ok at home. Just took it and it’s 129/79 but been known to go to 150/96 if the GP takes it (even if I take my own b/p monitor in!).

Hope all goes well.

Well the doc thinks hopefully it's an inner ear infection. I am to stay off the extra blood pressure tablet that was added a while ago and in a weeks time do a days blood pressure reading 14 spaced over the day and will re-assess the meds if needed then. My ears are clear as far as she can see, even though they feel bunged up.

I was also given a prescription for tablets for vertigo with the instructions not to get it filled unless the condition gets worse.

To late for me, already a walking drug store, and very meds intolerant I am on the max of several meds I can tolerate but a good way of the max that they can prescribe. Normally my pressure runs around the 140's / 80's this sudden dip over the weekend was new to me.

@pav: do you smoke or were a smoker? My cardiologist on first visit asked me if I have fainted - then asked if I was a smoker.
