I just tested my BP for the frst time in a couple of weeks. Last time it was an horrific 165/98 😱 This time it is 143/83 which is a whole load better! Still a bit of a way to go, but a vast improvement. I've really been trying hard to take care of myself recently so it' nice to see that it seems to be working! That's probably also why my blood sugars are coming down and I need less insulin.

I was talking to a neighbour recently about how much more in tune I am with things since diagnosis. Someone without diabetes doesn't know when something they do (or don't do!) has a bad effect on them, but we can see it each time we take our blood sugar levels or have to understand the dangers of high blood pressure etc.

Well done on getting it down Alan - every little drop helps.

When I was in hospital they did regular BP but they did notice that each time I hypod my BP really shot up. Do you know if yours goes up when you hypo?

Yay well done Al its going the right way

Excellent news Alan 🙂

Well done Alan - I usually average around 138\78

Cheers Steffie 🙂

I don't know Lucy, I've never tested it - might be a bit too complex an operation whilst I'm hypo though! I guess it could rise because hypos tend to release stress hormones and stress makes BP rise.

I dream of numbers like that! 😉

When I was in hospital they brought aguy in and his systolic reading was 220! 😱

I think that the docs like diabetics to be 130/80 or below, and the diastolic (the second number) is supposed to be the most important of the two. I've just been reading a book about blood pressure - will post a review tomorrow 🙂

Well done Alan, by bp has always been normal - last one 127/74, it is one of the only normal things about me 😛

Thanks Carol. I don't think mine has ever been that good, even with the pills I am on. Maybe one day! 🙂

At least you're not smoking Alan, which is one of the most important things to give up for blood pressure. 🙂

Excellent work ! :D

Should be out of your system by now I hope. I'm amazed that your BP is high with your fitness levels. Have they suggested what other causes are ?

I'm on simvastatin but only had slightly raised before. Hope you can keep it coming down.

Stress and depression :(

Mine was 140/90 when I did it out of interest at work the day before yesterday. Stress of the job and lack of fitness I think.

2 of the worst things I guess. Not something you can do much about without some serious help.

I know it's bandied about a lot but CBT is really very good in many instances. If you can get access to it of course 🙄

Us lot don't help with the stress situation either ! :D Naughty tinkers who need watchgin all the time. 😱

Thanks Rob. I also suffer SAD so am starting to feel much better now that the days are getting longer and brighter (if not warmer!) 🙂

The sunshine is a natural tonic for all of us I think. It does make it seem (almost) worthwhile getting out of bed for 🙂

It is very difficult to find positivity when you don't feel it inside. I'm starting to sound spiritual so I'll stop there ! :D

I'd recommend tweeting all your problems (under a pseudonym of course!).🙂

Hope that your blood pressure lowers while reading the book ;~)
