Hello,

I'm absolutely new to Diabetes 2 and I knew this around 10 days ago. Happy days!

Until now I have been monitored through my pharmacist and today I finally got my machine for free the Contour XT from Bayer. I hope to learn fast how to use it, for the moment I ma panicking.

I saw today that they sell in also the Accu-ckeck mobile that doesn't need strips. Is is good?
I was thinking to buy it as it seems easier to use.

You will see a lot of post from me in the next weeks so thanks in advance for your patience.

Cheers

I dont know about the cost of the Contor Strips, but the Accu-chek are some of the most expensive at around £27, I know as i noticed the price in my Large Boots.

Thank you. The strips are around £20 for 50. If this Accu-check mobile works fine can be a good deal. I saw some reviews but they were not all enthusiastic.

It may be just a personal thing, but I found it harder to get a drop of blood on the cassette of the Accucheck mobile than on a test strip.

Hi & welcome to the forum. I use the SD codefree meter, available from Amazon or Home Health. The strips are a lot cheaper at around £6 for 50.
