Hi everyone.

I have recently been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. My doctor has given me a self testing blood glucose monitor.

My question is, I am finding it difficult to know what levels in mmol my blood should be. I know it changes slightly throughout the day, but I am not sure what I should be aiming at, what is bad etc.

Any help you could offer would be really greatly appreciated. Also is there any other good websites that I will find other useful information on?

Thanks for your help.

Chris.

hi and welcome christian between 4 and 7 mmol , but im yet to experience levels like that ha

Hi christian, levels between 4/7 are good to aim for. Welcome to the site 🙂

4-7 is the general advice, although different people will be set different targets according to their circumstances so your doctor/DSN should agree your targets with you. They will most likely vary according to when, eg before or after meals etc
