Hi I'm just wondering can anyone help my son has just started using the dexcom1plus tonight he changed it now his notice it was bleeding is that normal or does he have to remove that and use another new sensor thank you

It’s fine just clean the blood off

I almost always bleed a tiny bit when I apply my Libre sensors, usually just a tiny spot of blood appears in the centre hole, but sometimes I get a little dribble of blood. I always blot with a tissue when I apply and press for a few seconds to stop any further bleeding and soak up the blood to prevent staining my clothes. My Libre sensors always work fine after such bleeding.

It’s not uncommon for a sensor site to bleed a little after insertion, but it should be minimal. If the bleeding is excessive or if there’s pain, it’s best to remove the sensor and apply a new one. Always monitor the site for signs of infection or discomfort. For specific guidance, refer to the Dexcom user manual or consult your healthcare provider. 🙂
