Paul Robinson has revealed how he feared he would die when he suffered a blood clot on his lung.

Robinson developed a blockage in the main artery to his lung following surgery on a back injury last season.

The Blackburn goalkeeper was initially told to go home by A and E staff and says he was saved by the quick thinking of Rovers? doctor Duncan Robertson.

Robertson sent him back to hospital where doctors told him he could have died. ?It was a Sunday night and my chest started getting really tight and I started coughing up blood,? said the former England international.
