No no no - I truthfully couldn't possibly eat more than one slice of a 12 portion one at a time, even if it was liberally laced with Kirsch. Bet my husband could eat 2 though. In which case it would take us 4 days to eat it and meanwhile would take up far too much room in the fridge ! (No I can't have a bigger fridge as it's the biggest capacity one we could find that fits into the only space available for it.
(Spose we could move house though ...... ) LOL !
If you get one, i'll quite happily come round and help you eat it that way it wont be in your fridge as long!![]()
Funny you should say that. We used to have an absolutely fab Viennese patisserie near our office where you could buy individual slices of their huge 'catering' gattox there and then, or order any size up to 36pn for 2 days hence. Long time ago and individual slices were each approx. £1.20 at the time whereas in any old bakery shop a 'normal' sort of individual creamcake would cost around a £1. An 8, 12 or 16 portion Druckers' gateau cost 8, 12 or 16 times £1.20 - but as they got bigger, they became proportionally cheaper. The next size up - 24 portions - cost just £20. There were 18 people in our office so my birthday would cost me £18 minimum anyway - so they had a treat - a slice off a huge Gateau St Honore - always much, much more fresh cream than cake - with fresh strawberries (chopped in the cream and one whole one on top of each portion just inside the cream filled profiterole) to boot - so far far easier for yours truly to bolus for too!
I'm salivating now ........ roll on 4pm - two more F cream eclairs in the fridge!
Ditto - you're about the first person I've ever heard not to like the taste and different textures of luscious Morello cherries combined with chocolate cake and whipped cream.

Hehe that made me chuckle tooI'm really not sure if it is a part of diabetes or not, but I suppose as people, we often crave what we can't have.....so on that basis I am going to blame diabetes for making me want cake!! 😛
I never had a sweet tooth either until I was diagnosed and last night my OH was happily sat eating his way through a FULL PACKET!!! of biscuits....and I was so tempted to grab the biscuits and make a run for it!! I didn't though - I didn't have a single one and he ate the lot to himself!! 😱
How on earth did you manage to resist the absolutely fabulously gorgeous Black Forest Gateau
