Hi guys

A few weeks ago I went to the docs as I wasn't happy with the level of care I was experiencing from the DSN at the surgery and I asked to be referred to my hospital consultant either privately or on the NHS. The doc told me that the other docs and my DSN would confer about my case and then get back to me.
To cut a long story short they refused a referral of any kind.

Sooo, I rang the consultant's private secretary( the one I asked to see) and asked if it was possible to still see him if I had been refused a referral. His secretary could see no reason why the referral should have been refused and said she would get the consultant to have a look at my notes.
Consultant rang me himself the next day and said he would sort me out NHS and is sending out a community nurse from the hospital and a dietician to see me.

My DSN at the surgery rang me to let know when the community nurse would be visiting the surgery to see me. She sounded annoyed that I had gone over their heads so to speak to get this appointment.

Now, one of my problems is recently I've been suffering nausea and bad headaches but I feel like I can't go and discuss this with a doc as I may have annoyed them with the above scenario.

I don't know what to do before I see the community nurse and I'm feeling really down :(

Sorry about the long rant :(

xx

Hi Megan, very sorry to hear that you have been treated so shoddily :( Clearly, you were let down by your doctor since by pursuing the matter yourself you have been able to get what you felt you needed. If you feel you need to see a doctor about your current problems please don't let this get in the way of seeking help, you should be treated in a professional manner. Bite the bullet and make the appointment, once it is over with you will no longer have to worry about how they might react.

I hope you are feeling much better soon, take care 🙂

Do you have any drop in centres near you that you can use instead Megan?

Hi megan, I would expect most GPs dont have the time to take these situations too seriously, or enough to have the hump, rather they have more serious problems in just running a busy workload. My relative had a similar problem and actually was helped by the GP eventually.

So wouldn't worry, just make your appointment and probably nothing will be said, and if it is , so what.

Gonna ring tomorrow morning for appointment. Thanks guys 🙂

Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how you get on.

Oh dear megan....((( hugs ))) you don't have much luck do you....i really hope you start to get things sorted and feel better x x x
